Alex Kat is a professional photographer based in Athens, Greece, specializing in theater photography and artistic portraiture. Her work captures the expressive, transformative power of performance—both on stage and in front of the camera.
She collaborates with leading performing arts institutions, including the Greek National Theater, Greek National Opera, Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall, Neuköllner Oper Berlin, and the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, as well as with acclaimed independent theater makers such as Frank Castorf, Timofey Kulyabin, and Elli Papakonstantinou. She also contributes to cultural publications, shaping a visual language that bridges documentation with conceptual storytelling.
Her practice extends to film, where she works as a set photographer, capturing the mood and atmosphere of cinematic narratives.
From her own studio, Alex Kat develops commissioned projects alongside long-term personal work exploring themes of gender, identity, transformation, performativity, and visual storytelling. Her photographs have been published both in Greece and internationally.
